Instructor: Dr Rohee Dasgupta, Ms. Neha DabhadeLanguage: English

About the course

Violent conflicts are complex phenomena that arise from a multitude of intertwined factors, making their analysis and resolution highly challenging.

On the first day, we will explore the intricate nature of conflict analysis, highlighting three primary challenges:

  1. Multi-causality
  2. Consequences of conflict
  3. Understanding motivations

On the second day, we will understand conflict through the contemporary example of West Asia. Through their history of political, geographical and social dynamics, we will make sense of the present events. We will also understand the involvement of international factors in a conflict like this.
